Title: Team of Vipers Pdf My 500 Extraordinary Days in the Trump White House
Author: Cliff Sims
Published Date: 2019-01-29
Page: 384

"Sims’ book makes much of infighting among White House staff. “The whole thing felt like Game of Thrones, but with the characters from Veep,” writes Sims" ―Axios"What is most memorable about Team of Vipers is the joylessness of working for this president and the acrid aftertaste it leaves." ―The Guardian"But like other accounts of the Trump White House written by former staff members or journalists, the narrative and anecdotes support much of the real-time reporting about the administration. Mr. Sims also writes that leaks by various staff members have been in service of creating specific portraits of events or undermining rivals. They have not always portrayed the full truth, he suggests." ―The New York Times"Sims, who enjoyed uncommon personal access to Trump, recounts expletive-filled scenes of chaos, dysfunction and duplicity among the president, his family members and administration officials. Unlike memoirs of other Trump officials, Sims’s book is neither a sycophantic portrayal of the president nor a blistering account written to settle scores." ―The Washington PostCliff Sims was the CEO of Yellowhammer Multimedia, Alabama’s premiere source for political news, until he joined the Trump campaign in August 2016. After the election, he moved from Trump Tower to the West Wing, where he crafted the White House’s messaging. He now advises major corporations, CEOs and media personalities on a wide range of public affairs and communications issues. He lives with his wife and dog in Washington, D.C.

The first honest insider’s account of the Trump administration.

After standing at Donald Trump’s side on Election Night, Cliff Sims joined him in the West Wing as Special Assistant to the President and Director of White House Message Strategy.

He soon found himself pulled into the President’s inner circle as a confidante, an errand boy, an advisor, a punching bag, and a friend. Sometimes all in the same conversation.

As a result, Sims gained unprecedented access to the President, sitting in on private meetings with key Congressional officials, world leaders, and top White House advisors. He saw how Trump handled the challenges of the office, and he learned from Trump himself how he saw the world.

For five hundred days, Sims also witnessed first-hand the infighting and leaking, the anger, joy, and recriminations. He had a role in some of the President’s biggest successes, and he shared the blame for some of his administration’s worst disasters. He gained key, often surprising insights into the players of the Trump West Wing, from Jared Kushner and John Kelly to Steve Bannon and Kellyanne Conway.

He even helped Trump craft his enemies list, knowing who was loyal and who was not.

And he took notes. Hundreds of pages of notes. In real-time.

Sims stood with the President in the eye of the storm raging around him, and now he tells the story that no one else has written―because no one else could. The story of what it was really like in the West Wing as a member of the President’s team. The story of power and palace intrigue, backstabbing and bold victories, as well as painful moral compromises, occasionally with yourself.

Team of Vipers tells the full story, as only a true insider could.

Having already read Richardson’s excellent books *The Islamic Antichrist* and *Mideast Beast,* I knew I was in for another compelling read with his newest title. As with the previous two, Richardson MAKES HIS CASE—from Scripture, first and foremost, but also from the tragic annals of Church history as he follows the trail of supersessionism / replacement theology to its logical, and most-often tragic, conclusions as played out against the Jewish people. With Romans 9-11 undergirding the book’s caution and exhortation to the present-day Church, Richardson makes it clear that “[u]nderstanding the future [of Israel] may actually be even more important than the past. The future, after all, is where our part in the story will be written” (p. 208).

The book is divided into three sections. The first, titled “What the Bible really says about Israel in the plan of God,” is just over 100 pages long. Richardson reviews each of the four covenants **given to Israel** in the Old Testament: the Abrahamic, the Mosaic, the Davidic, and the new covenant. As Richardson shows so clearly from Scripture, it is only the Mosaic covenant that was bilateral; the other three are covenants sworn by God alone, and He keeps His unilateral promises regardless of man’s failures. In this section, Richardson also responds to supersessionist arguments by Albertus Pieters, N. T. Wright, Gary M. Burge, Sam Storms, G. K. Beale, Carl Medearis, Alex Awad, and Knox Theological Seminary.

The second section recounts “Two thousand years of supersessionism and Jew-hatred,” quoting numerous Church fathers, saints, popes, and edicts. Chapter 10 of this section is especially disturbing—though necessary—material, titled, “Christian Jew-hatred: From the fourth century to the Holocaust.
You know as I read this book tonight I was profoundly moved by how desperately our generation needs to be reminded that someday soon a Jew will rule the world. In this stirring, well written work, Joel Richardson lays out a compelling Scriptural case for a literal interpretation of the Bible concerning the Jewish people, the Abrahamic Covenant and the return and reign of Yeshua (Jesus) the Jewish Messiah.

In this book Mr. Richardson tackles head on the dangers of replacement theology and shows plainly how such beliefs were a foundational basis for nearly 2000 years of Jewish persecution. From the first days of the early church, through the dark ages, the reformation era, the holocaust, and on to our own generation Mr. Richardson documents the seeds of Christian anti-Semitism and explains the consequence of its bitter harvest.

Although this book addresses several heavy and sobering topics, the chapters on The Coming Kingdom of God and The Restoration of the Jewish Kingdom were both encouraging and inspiring. I do indeed look forward to the millennial reign of Yeshua and a time when swords are beaten into plowshares.

On a more critical note there were a few areas where I find myself in respectful disagreement with Mr. Richardson:

1. I personally am not convinced of a regional Islamic anti-christ scenario. I acknowledge that Mr. Richardson makes many good arguments but I still have several reservations.

2. In my opinion a contextual reading of Matthew 24 does not require a totally futurist interpretation. There are several examples of prophecies in the Bible that have historical and future fulfillment. Mr. Richardson’s own interpretation of Daniel 9 sees both a historical and a futurist fulfillment.

3. Although I agree with Mr.

About the Author

Levi Lusko is the pastor of Fresh Life Church, a multisite church in Montana, and the founder of Skull Church and the O2 Experience. He serves as host for Greg Laurie’s Harvest Crusades and travels internationally to speak at churches and conferences. He takes pleasure in small things like: black coffee, new shoes, and fast internet. He and his wife, Jennie, have four daughters, Alivia, Daisy, Clover, and Lenya, who is in heaven.

Paperback: 240 pagesPublisher: Thomas Nelson (August 4, 2015)Language: EnglishISBN-10: 0718032144ISBN-13: 978-0718032142 Product Dimensions: 5.5 x 0.5 x 8.5 inches Shipping Weight: 12.6 ounces (View shipping rates and policies) Best Sellers Rank: #1,527 in Books (See Top 100 in Books) #32 in Books > Christian Books & Bibles > Christian Living > Spiritual Growth #293 in Books > Religion & Spirituality

In this book, Pastor Levi Lusko shows with heartbreaking honesty how to face impossible pain and find incredible power. But Through the Eyes of a Lion is more than just a manual for dealing with grief. In Levi’s words, it’s "a manifesto for high-octane living." Those words couldn’t be more true. I’ve never experienced the level of pain that Levi and his wife Jennie did the day their daughter Lenya left this earth. But I have struggled with fear, anxiety, and defeat, and I walked away from this book encouraged and empowered to change the way I view the challenges in my life.

Posing questions like "How do you live out an extraordinary calling while doing ordinary things and living in a world that is all screwed up?" Levi uses his real life experiences to teach you how to hurt with hope, look past what you can see, and let go of fear to become the you you were meant to be. And he does so with a mix of authenticity, brevity, gravity and humor that makes this not only a powerful read, but one you can easily engage with. From "cue the eagle" to "pain is a microphone" and "run toward the roar" the pages are full of tidbits of wisdom and key phrases that will stick with you long after you finish reading. Whether you’re struggling under the weight of seemingly unbearable pain, or facing the everyday difficulties of life, this book offers renewed hope–for both your present and your future.

This book tells the very messy story of losing a daughter. It does not tell you how to get over it or move on – the two biggest lies of grief counseling. Levi strips away any preconceptions we might have about suffering, revealing the only substance that really matters: a transparent, raw, and very real relationship with God. Get to that point and maybe then we can begin to grieve our losses in a way that has lasting impact on a broken world. That impact, that calling – our grief now becomes a gateway, rather than a barrier. I’m thankful to Levi for writing this book and to the Luskos for their example in suffering through painful grief and sharing this story.

Through the Eyes of a Lion reflects Levi’s strength of character with authenticity of his voice – if you read this book with an appreciation and understanding of the richness of his enthusiasm and care for you that exudes from his preaching pulpit, you’ll spend less time thinking about a critical literary review or dreaming up book club questions and more energy running to a God that soothes and heals your pain. Reading the book through In a single sitting, I confess that it’s a page turner of the best kind – words that provide a catalyst for healing and motivation to keep pursuing God with all of your heart. And at the end of the day, isn’t that really the only litmus test for whether or not a book has done a five-star job?

You will not finish this book unchanged. Levi has a way of sharing moments he and his family have walked through, since their daughter Lenya went to heaven, in a way that you can tangibly feel their emotions. They have hurt so deeply but with hope, and through this book you get to see God healing parts of their soul. Levi is an incredibly gifted writer and weaves solid bible teaching throughout in a way that is relevant to every single person. You will cry and laugh and certainly be challenged to look at your own life as you read this book. I loved every single page and am so excited to be able to share this book with friends and family.

I am sooo disappointed, I really wanted to love this book. I thought it would even make a nice gift.

My first problem with the book is minor, though it is written to the whole family, most times it seems like it is written for young children, other times the reading seemed geared for adults, as on page 146: "Tonight we’re just raggedy manger stragglers who feel the heaviness of our old raggedy clothes from fighting the long battle with evil and badness. With our raggedy rags, we’ve tried to polish this dark world into something good enough to win our way to freedom. With our raggedy rags, we’ve tried to patch together our own ropes to somehow climb to freedom. With our raggedy rags, we’ve tried to disguise ourselves as someone else, as someone better, as someone bigger, thinking we could sneak our way to freedom and back to God." Since most of the book seems written in language appropriate for my young child, the instances of speaking to an adult or older child seem a bit jarring. Not a deal breaker, it just seems strange when coupled with the children’s book illustrations and sentences like this one, "The whole blue marble of the world spins happy right now with the gladness of His love."

My biggest problem with the book is the interpretation of Scripture that is on page 145, the reading meant for Christmas Eve, it says that the battle resulting in Satan being hurled to earth (Rev 12:7-12) took place on the night of Jesus’ birth. I have never heard that interpretation and I was even unable to find that interpretation during a Google search and cursury search of commentaries. Why, oh why, would Ann put a belief in her book that is not widely held? How did this get past the publisher?

Though Gundry has been the subject of some controversy within the Evangelical church, I have appreciated his contributions to the reference literature. This fifth edition of his widely used A Survey of the New Testament is no exception.

I first used Gundry’s Survey while in seminary over 30 years ago. The book has only improved with age. The addition of color images, insets explaining and illustrating technical terms, and the availability of audio-visual aids to support the text make the new addition a valuable addition to the Bible student’s, lay or professional, library.

The new edition will include both a traditional book, e-book, and enhanced e-book versions. The enhanced e-book version will include video introductions, animated maps and illustrations. Faculty and students will also have available supplemental study material to help with classroom presentations and study.

The writing style is inviting, the text address the major questions surrounding the authorship of each book. For example, in discussing the authorship of the Gospel of Matthew, Gundry writes:

===========================================================

The skillful organization of this Gospel agrees with the probable interests and abilities of a tax collector such as the Apostle Matthew had been. So also does the fact that this is the only gospel to contain the story of Jesus’ paying the temple tax (17:24-27).
