Title: The Thinnest Air Pdf

A woman’s disappearance exposes a life of secrets in a twisting novel of psychological suspense from the author of The Memory Watcher.

Meredith Price is the luckiest woman alive. Her husband, Andrew, is a charming and successful financial broker. She has two lovely stepchildren and is living in affluence in a mountain resort town. After three years of marriage, Meredith’s life has become predictable. Until the day she disappears.

Her car has been discovered in a grocery store parking lot—purse and phone undisturbed on the passenger seat, keys in the ignition, no sign of struggle, and no evidence of foul play. It’s as if she vanished into thin air.

It’s not like Meredith to simply abandon her loved ones. And no one in this town would have reason to harm her. When her desperate sister, Greer, arrives, she must face a disturbing question: What if no one really knows Meredith at all? For Greer, finding her sister isn’t going to be easy…because where she’s looking is going to get very, very dark.

THE THiNNEST AIR My First Read pick for June, and this one I did not agonize over- it just seemed right. I love psychological suspense thrillers, and this one is all that. Meredith and Greer, half sisters with an unbreakable bond, one goes missing, the other jumps into action to find out what happened to her. There are a lot of twists and turns, going back and forth between the main characters for several months before Meredith goes missing. It is an interesting story with a surprising ending. Enjoyable book, well worth the read.Entertaining story, but a bit generic and predictable This tale revolves around a young wealthy housewife who suddenly disappears from a supermarket parking lot and the frantic search that ensues. The story is told in alternating POV's between two characters, the missing woman Meredith and her older sister Greer. Clues to Meredith’s disappearance are dropped like breadcrumbs as each individual shares their story of the events surrounding the mysterious disappearance. The POV narratives time jump, alternating between Meredith’s pre-missing POV and Greer’s post-missing POV. In this story, everyone’s a suspect as numerous secrets are revealed indicating that some of the people who knew Meredith may not be as guilt-free as they appear. The revelations also prove that even those closest to her may not have known as much about Meredith as they believed. The story was solid and entertaining but not groundbreaking enough to really wow me. Many of the twists were too predictable and I correctly figured out what would eventually become the biggest reveal shortly into the story. However, I was most disappointed with the ending. I don’t know if a certain aspect of the ending was left purposely vague but it left me feeling a bit cheated and makes me wonder if a sequel is in the works. Also, there were several plot devices inserted to help boost the sense of mystery but some were orphaned, leaving behind unresolved plot holes. Others were just a bit too unbelievable. Overall, it was an entertaining read but a bit generic. With the sheer number of stories out there about a woman who mysteriously goes missing prompting a close friend or relative to play gumshoe detective, it takes a very special story to set it apart from the pack. This was fun and entertaining but not special. I likely would have rated it four stars if not for the disappointing ending.A counterbalance to that one star review. Started reading this right away based on that one star 'first line' review. I thought, surely it can't be THAT bad. And it wasn't. It was a good first line, and anyone who claims they're not a prude but can't handle writing about sex that occurs while on honeymoon is lying to both themselves and us. I'll update with an actual review one of these days, but I thought that review needed a counterbalance.
